Greg’s photographic journey began in his childhood dreams of becoming a film producer and director. Around the turn of this century, he acquired his first professional photography equipment and began to chronicle a life of adventures, taking him behind the scenes of movie and TV sets, to the live energy of rock concerts, stand-up comedy shows, celebrity events, intimate weddings, ruins of ancient civilizations, and a moment on the field at the start of the Super Bowl. Capturing the natural world - animals in their element, sprawling landscapes, bustling city scenes, and portraits of fascinating individuals, is Greg’s creative inspiration. At this summer’s esteemed Sawdust Festival 2024, in Laguna Beach, California, he will unveil a private collection of never-before-made-public images, spanning 24 years of photography, all natural without photoshop or AI alterations. Greg’s approach is decidedly old-school, treasuring the pure essence of each scene and striving to capture fleeting moments of beauty in this ever-changing world around us.
“For me, the act of capturing a unique moment in time is the essence of photography. Sometimes, it is sought after, or it may be stumbled upon by pure luck. But it’s those beautiful seconds of time, occurring all over the world every day, which we attempt to freeze for others to enjoy. In this dynamic era of technological innovation, the capabilities of our cameras are ever-expanding, pushing the boundaries of photographic opportunities. A visually moving photograph has the power to evoke genuine emotion and memories, making them feel as if they just happened yesterday. There are many elements of freezing such moments, including natural lighting, aperture, shutter speed & ISO settings, but it always comes down to composition. It’s about seeing everything within the four corners of the frame, and sometimes with only a second or two, making the creative decision of how best to capture that moment in a way that will make the image as visually engaging as possible. My lifework as a photographer has taken me around the world, to particularly photogenic experiences, working in all forms of media. I love to shoot weddings, corporate events, live music, cultural events, portraits, kids, pets and much more. The vast majority of photos on this site were taken with Canon professional cameras - negative & slide film, and digital. A token few were taken with consumer digital cameras or iphones. Please feel free to contact me if you’d like to hear more about my services. My wife and I also lead small groups on international photography excursions, with a forthcoming trip to India in 2025.
